GENERAL RULES

JACK AND JILL COMMUNITY PRESCHOOL

2007-2008

 REGISTRATION FEE

1.      There is an annual registration fee of $30 (per child) payable yearly for materials. This fee is non-refundable.

 TUITION   (2007-2008)

*      $65 - 3 year old class 9 - 12 Tuesday & Thursday.

*      $85 - 4 year old class 9 - 12 Monday, Wednesday, & Friday.

  1. Tuition is payable in monthly installments. First and lasts month’s tuition is due at the August Parents Meeting. The last months tuition is non-refundable if the child leaves school and the vacancy is not filled. Tuition may be paid in a lump sum at the beginning of school

  2. Installments are to be paid to the treasurer at the end of the previous month. For example, the November tuition is due at the end of October, etc.

  3. There will be a late charge of $10 assessed if tuition is not paid by the 10th of the month it is due. The fine will increase to $15 if tuition is not received by the 20th day of the month. If tuition is not paid by the end of the month, the child will not be able to attend school until the account is paid up to date. Any bounced checks will result in a $30 fine.

 PARENTS

  1. A Parent or chosen substitute is required to attend ALL Parents Meetings.

  2. A fine of $20 will be charged if a parent misses a meeting! If you do miss a meeting, you are responsible for contacting the president to be updated on matters discussed.

  3. Eight weeks maternity leave will be granted. Working days will be absorbed by the school. This also includes major surgery.

  4. Any serious problems that a parent would like to air should first be brought up to the Executive Board at their monthly meeting and if it warrants, to the members at the next parents’ meeting.

  5. MEDICAL REPORTS MUST BE TURNED IN BY THE FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL. If not, the child will be unable to attend school.

  6. A parent with two children in school will participate double. (must work 2 parents’ meeting, sign-up for everything twice, work 2 parties, etc.)

  7. NO SPANKING OF CHILDREN IS ALLOWED. EVEN YOUR OWN CHILD!!!

  8. No Siblings will be allowed to attend normal school sessions.

  9. Parent (or substitute) must work (1) party per year (Halloween, Dad’s day, Christmas, Easter or Graduation). Signup sheet is offered at first parents’ meeting.

  10. Must work as scheduled or get a replacement, i.e.: switch with another parent or get a substitute.

  11. Bring a nutritious snack when scheduled to.  If someone works for you, it is your responsibility to ensure there is a snack provided.

  12. MUST ATTEND ALL PARENTS MEETING (or send a substitute to take notes). Should a meeting be missed, a fine of $20.00 is issued. There are only 4 meetings per year.  If an emergency should arise & you are unable to attend a meeting, please call your Parent Leader to advise….DO NOT CALL THE TEACHERS!

  13. Parents must participate in mandatory fund raisers or pay specified fees.

  14. Pick up children on time for school.

  15. When dropping off any child you are responsible in getting to and from school (this includes those you car pool with), please help them with their boots, hats, coats, etc..

  16. Dress: casual dress for parents and children.  Rubber soled shoes for children.

  17. Make sure someone is responsible for your child while on a field trip if you can not attend.

  18. Parents are expected to come to school if their child has a toileting accident.

 FACTS TO KNOW

  1. Use side entrance of church.

  2. All children must be completely potty trained by the first day of school.

  3. You are to bring children into school. Do Not drop them off either in the parking lot or at the church entrance.

  4. If a child brings in a Show & Tell item on the assigned day, put his her name on the item. Only appropriate items should be sent in. No guns, knives, swords, etc.

  5. Check child's backpack and school bulletin board daily for relayed information.

 SCHOOL SESSIONS

1.      Under no circumstances will the child be permitted to remain in the school if the parent (or substitute) cannot work.

2.      Parents will participate according to the schedule. It is your responsibility to contact the Scheduling Chairperson with any special requests. Please remember if you are working parent you must be the first to arrive and the last to leave.

3.      If a Parent is unable to participate on the assigned day, she/he should:

a.       Find a suitable replacement, (friend, relative ,etc.)

b.       Trade days with another member in the school.

c.       Pay a member of the school $10.00 to substitute for her/him. If the sub is also to bring snack, an extra $5.00 must be paid. Please try to give a 24 hour notice.

d.      The parent is responsible to pay sub.

4.      If a parent fails to come to school on assigned day. They will be fined $20.00, unless you have made other arrangements for a sub. (If a sub fails to appear, the scheduled parent will be fined).

5.      Substitute helper must be 21 years of age.

6.      If a child has a contagious type of illness, the school must be informed immediately. Call the Parent Leader. Also if your child should develop any new allergies during the school year, it is your responsibility to let the Parent Leader know and to post it, so other parents will know.  If you car pool it is your responsibility to alert other mothers of any contagious Illness.

7.      NO SMOKING ANYWHERE IN SCHOOL!!!

8.      Calendar: September through May, vacations will coincide with the public school. (Some exceptions will apply).

9.      All parents must get their children to school on time. Parents working in the class should arrive 20 minutes early to set up and should stay 15 minutes later to clean up.

10. Parents must notify the Parent Leader in writing two weeks in advance before withdrawing from the school. The vacant spot will be filled immediately!! If a child or parent is unable to adapt to preschool, we will hold a meeting with parents, president, teacher, and parent leader. This meeting will determine if the child will be given a two week notice, or released from the school.

11. Please be on time to pick children up from school.

 FUNDRAISING

  1. Minimum Sales Requirement: $300.00  (per child).

  2. Flat Fee Option: $150.00 payable in three installments (1st. Parent’s Meeting, October 1st, and November 1st). 

  3. If more than one child in a family attending Jack & Jill, the minimum sales requirement is $400.00 and the flat fee is $200.00.

 DRESS

  1. Label all clothing.

  2. Clothing should be geared so that the children can dress themselves.

  3. Clothing worn to school should be easily washable.

  4. Rubber soled shoes must be worn!!! No snow boots worn during school in the winter!!

 FIELD TRIPS

  1. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Siblings are welcome on most field trips (this will be made aware to you on each individual field trip).

  2. All children must have an annual permission slip signed or they will not be able to attend field trips. (Please include any younger siblings who may attend on the permission slip).

  3. Money for the trips is to be paid to the field trip chairperson as per each sign up sheet.

  4. There are no refunds on school field trips.
